Appearance: Moira has long dark brown hair with light grey eyes, her skin is always tan from her time spent outside. And despite how much she eats she keeps a fit body from the work on the ranch and taking care of the horses. She is a bit more on the shorter side at 5'5" but she knows that just makes people underestimate her.

Personality: Playful and teasing yet at the same time good natured and down to earth. She is stubborn to a fault and at times her stubbornness is an endangerment to herself. However she is most calm and serious when it comes to horses as she has a soft spot for them, they bring out a much more gentle and caring side that doesn't get seen often to anyone outside her family. 

Bio: Growing up Moira was more on the spoiled side, or well as spoiled as the girl who asked for a pony at her first Christmas that she could speak and got one. But that was more tradition for the family than her asking since the ranch has been in her family for many generations... just a bit downsized from the starting size. But it has always been a cattle and horse ranch as the main source of income for them, although there is a nice bird flock (chicken, duck, geese, and turkeys) for producing eggs and meat for just those on the farm. Always a few guardian dogs that always seemed to be out in the barn and around the birds for protection against predators, and one for Moira as she claimed one to be her pet when she was young.

At the age of 6, Moira and Blake (2ish) had been out on a picnic near were their father was working with their mother when a snake had made it's way to their picnic fleeing from the horses that had startled it. Their mother, Breanna, tried to shoo the snake away from her kids with a stick but ended up getting bit by it before it disappeared. This was the start of Moira's fear of snakes and when her mother died. Luckily her father, Garrett, heard the cries of the kids and had already been on the way over before her mother had passed out, as unknown to the kids there was underlying health issues with their mother. With the help of a couple of ranch hands, Breanna and Garrett were able to get flown to the local hospital while the kids got taken home at Garrett's orders. 

With  the death of her mother, her father started to withdraw a bit leaving the two young kids in the care of two of the ranch hand's wives. Sure he was around but he wasn't always there when needed, thus Moira considers the two ranch hands more her family than hired help and promised them a home with them forever if they chose as she got older. In school she always got good grades and despite not being in any clubs or having many friends, she was a good student enough to figure out her talents. Not to say she wasn't outgoing, she just preferred the company of animals over humans and pretty much only went to parties when her younger brother dragged her to them (normally so she would give him a ride to them over anything else).

In her teens she started to fully learn how to train the horses that was on the ranch, raising them and even having a 'wild' herd on the ranch, she let the wild herd stay with little contact aside from vet care and accepting food and shelter during the winter months. Every year she gathers the yearlings from the wild herd to bring into for what she considered basic training and to take any that seemed really curious into the work sell horses.

When she went off to college it was to study to become a vet at the start, then she changed to vet tech after seeing how competitive it was to get into a veterinary college over learning how to be a vet tech. Sure she did all the classes needed to get into a veterinary college program so that if she changed her mind in the future she could try again more easily then, but even so she was only wanting to do so for the knowledge. Thus she took to learning the knowledge without the official ways so that she could better care for the animals on the farm, it also helps that the local vet is a family friend and they have a close relationship with them.

As her father has mostly withdrawn into just focusing on the cattle, she has taken over running the ranch now that she has returned home from college. With it being a few years, she has built up relations again with her horses being great working horses but also having a talent for training horses in the basics. The cattle side of the ranch has been running smoothly, as smoothly as the cattle business can run with the normal problems that arise within the business.

The Grannies: May Quirke and Alice Prescott

The Gramps: Jack Quirke and Terry Prescott 

History for the Grannies and Gramps: They have basically been on the ranch since their early 20's when Jack and Terry were hired as ranch hands by Owain (Moira's and Blake's Grandfather) and despite being elderly the grannies mostly tend to cooking for the ranch and light cleaning in the main house while the gramps tend to the garden. They live in apartments that are off of the main house by a walkway that was built for them when they started to get up there in age. Although they had been offered retirement, they choose to stay and help out.

The Ranch hands:

Mark Thorne - He is in his 40's and has been working there for about 30 years and doesn't see himself leaving unless he gets a better offer at another ranch. Lives in a two bedroom cabin that he shares with his younger brother, the cabin is more off of the main ranch but does have a small stable nearby for his and his brother's horses and a wagon for when those are needed. He works more with the cattle and is often more out with the cattle and checking on them than around the main ranch.

Jace Thorne - He is one of the younger ranch hands that is there because his older brother also works on the ranch. Although he has no plains for staying as he is just around until he decides what college to head off to and what he wants to do in life. He is 19 years old, fresh out of high school but also a bit of a local considering that he came to live on the ranch with his brother when he was 14. Thus Moira and Blake consider him as their kid brother. He works more with the horses and around the main ranch than going out to work with the cattle unless help is needed.

She lost her mother at a young age which lead her to be less girly and a bit more tomboyish, always getting into trouble with the ranch hands kids that were around her age. Aside from that she had a normal childhood and life. As she finished up college, getting a degree as a vet tech, she returned home to help out on the ranch that had been downsized over the years due to bad management. Now her ranch was only a good sized one that easily supported the McCrae's and a couple of ranch hands with all they wanted or needed, even if it was starting to grow again at the moment.
